G.K. Chesterton Returns to Notre Dame

The Center held its inaugural Fall Catholic Culture Literature Series, entitled "G.K. Chesterton Returns to Notre Dame," November 11-15, 2002. Ralph McInerny of Notre Dame's Philosophy Department kicked off the week with "Chesterton at Notre Dame." Nicholas Lund-Molfese, Director of the Integritas Institute of the John Paul II Newman Center of the University of Illinois, Chicago delivered "Chesterton and the Catholic Worker Movement." David Fagerberg of the University of St. Mary of the Lake, continued with "Chesterton: The Poet and the Romantic." Fr. Charles Gordon, C.S.C., of Notre Dame's Theology Department gave the lecture "Chesterton as Philosopher and Theologian." John C. Chalberg brought the series to a close with his personal reflection "An Evening with G. K. Chesterton." We hope to continue the series in future years, focusing on other important Catholic authors.
